We believe it's crucial that our staff get the training, education and development to support them them to be the best they can be in their role. We want to release ambition and create inspiring leaders.

Our Leadership, Education and Development team (LEaD) provide a huge range of training and development opportunities for staff within the Trust, including:

  • Trust induction - this takes place in the first three months of you starting at the Trust and is designed to give you an overview of what Southern Health is all about.

  • Essential training - essential training is made up of statutory (by law) and mandatory (Trust policy) that all staff need to complete.

  • Clinical learning - the clinical learning team can support you with high quality clinical based training through a variety of courses and education.  

  • Student and mentor support - our Learning Environment Team help ensure that there is quality learning in clinical areas, including the support of non medical pre-registration students.

  • Learning beyond registration (LBR) - LBR is about meeting the education needs of NHS staff working in pay bands 6-9.   

  • Lifelong learning - standing still isn't an option! We're here to support your continued learning, from apprenticeships to Skills for Life.

  • Professional development - the Centre for Professional Development provides high quality training and education events to support professionoal development and clinical revalidation.
